District Cricket League T20 (DCL T20)
Welcome to the official **DCL T20** Cricket Rulebook, your complete guide to the rules, regulations, and code of conduct governing all **DCL T20** cricket matches. These rules ensure fairness, safety, consistency, and the true spirit of the game across every tournament organized under DCL T20.
1. Match Format
- All matches are played in the T10 format (10 overs per side).
- Each innings consists of 60 legal deliveries.
- Matches will be played using a standard tennis ball.
2. Team Composition
- Each team must include 11 players and may register up to 3 substitutes.
- Substitutes may only field; they cannot bat or bowl unless replacing an injured player.
- A minimum of 7 players is required for a team to start the match.
3. Overs & Bowling Regulations
- Each bowler may bowl a maximum of 2 overs per match.
- Underarm bowling is strictly prohibited.
- No-balls (overstepping, beamer, etc.) and wides award 1 extra run + a free hit.
4. Powerplay Rules
- The first 3 overs of each innings constitute the Powerplay.
- Only 2 fielders are permitted outside the 30-yard circle during this period.
5. Fielding Restrictions
- After the Powerplay, a maximum of 5 fielders may remain outside the 30-yard circle.
- No more than 5 fielders may be positioned on the leg side at any time.
6. Batting Guidelines
- Batsmen must wear appropriate protective gear (helmet, gloves, pads, etc.).
- A batsman may be declared out for time-wasting or unsporting behavior.
- A retired hurt batsman may return later if medically cleared.
7. Dismissals
All standard cricket dismissals apply, including:
- Bowled
- LBW
- Caught
- Run Out
- Hit Wicket
- Stumped
- Mankading is permitted, provided a prior warning is issued.
8. No-Balls & Wides
- Overstepping (bowler's front foot landing outside the popping crease) results in a no-ball.
- A beamer (above waist height) or more than one bouncer per over results in a no-ball.
- Any ball outside the batsman’s wide guidelines is a wide.
- No-balls and wides award 1 extra run + a free hit.
9. Match Timings & Reporting
- Teams must report 30 minutes before match start time.
- A 10-minute grace period is allowed; beyond this, a walkover may be awarded to the opponent.
10. Code of Conduct
- All players must follow the DCL T20 Code of Conduct, promoting respect, discipline, and sportsmanship.
- Use of foul language, aggressive behavior, or involvement in match-fixing will result in immediate disqualification.
11. Umpiring Decisions
- Umpires’ decisions are final and binding.
- Dissent, arguing, or undermining umpire authority is strictly prohibited.
12. Tie-Breaker / Super Over
- In the event of a tie, a Super Over will determine the winner.
- If the Super Over also ties, the team with more boundaries in the match will be declared the winner.
13. Weather Conditions
- For weather-related interruptions, match duration may be modified or rescheduled at the organizers' discretion.
14. Safety & Insurance
- All players participate at their own risk, and DCL T20 is not liable for injuries.
- Players are encouraged to maintain personal injury insurance.
15. Amendments
- DCL T20 reserves the right to modify rules at any time before or during the tournament.
- Any updates will be communicated to all team captains and management.
